The village of Fayence

We were driving around looking for a fabric store that sold Provencal fabrics. I had looked on the internet and found the website of Fayence Tissu, the store that sells fabric by the meter, and also items made of these fabrics like placemats, cushions, quilts, tablecloths, etc. so we decided to check it out!

Fayence, about 31km from Grasse, is perched on a hill top to the north, looking at the plains to the south. Fayence was a fortified town and has kept the charm of its medieval origins. It was impossible to follow the village map and directions.

There is an airfield on the plain just south of the town and is a major sailplane (gliders) center.
